A sunset in Menorca is not to be missed. The island has 5 lighthouses, but one of the most famous and emblematic is the Cavallería lighthouse . Located in the north of Menorca, west of Fornells and right next to Cavallería beach.

It is located on one of the highest cliffs of the island (90 meters). It is shocking to see the waves breaking at the foot of the cliff when the tramontana blows strong.

The lighthouse was inaugurated in 1857, with the objective as all the lighthouses to orient the navigators and the most important thing to prevent shipwrecks (very numerous in those times).

Around this lighthouse there are some nice places to visit that can be reached on foot, such as: Playa de Caballería, Puerto de Sanitja, Cala de Santa Teresa or Cala Viola.

In the lighthouse itself there is a small bar, ideal for a drink while enjoying one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island.
